Music Monday: All Entertainment All The Time!

via this and this

So, did anyone watch the Oscars last night? I thought MacFarlane did a pretty good job balancing snark with a proper reverence for the event. Of course it was too long; it always is. The only way to get the thing down to a reasonable length is to cut out awards that (I know this sounds harsh) non-industry people simply don't care about or even understand. Honestly? This is the first whole Oscar show I've watched in maybe 18 years. And, with all the live-blogging and tweeting going on, it was kinda fun to be a part of that.

If you want to have some fun with Oscar recapping, head over to Mashable for GIFs, awesome Jennifer Lawrence awkwardness (the second video is THE BEST) and a bit of nominee nostalgia.

Now, let's get to some muuuuuuuussssiiiiiic!

What did you think of the Oscars?

I thought Seth MacFarlane did a good job also. He started out slow and definitely got better as the show went on. Oh, and I totally agree about cutting some awards...I could do without awards for editing etc...

My favorite part was on the Red Carpet when Amanda Seyfried was answering questions. She's an different sort of girl...

I don't honk I have ever actually watched the oscars. It is something that has never really factored into my life.

The Oscars can be fun to watch for a little bit, but in reality after watching them for a total of twenty minutes I realized that I didn't really care about who won what, when etc. The only thing they are really good for is learning what movies you need to watch! The only thing I really enjoyed about the Oscars was J.Law's speech she is hilarious!

Unfortunately I didn't get to watch the Oscars because I went to the Daytona 500 race this past Sunday but I loved getting everybody's thoughts and opinions via Facebook. A lot made me laugh.

Karen: I don't know why they seem to be so against moving some of these awards to the technical ceremony they have off camera. They have to realize that non-movie industry folks just don't care that much about them!

Jeri: I loved it when they asked her to guess the movie memorabilia that was hidden and she said, "A head?" WHY WOULD IT BE A HUMAN HEAD, AMANDA?!

Susan: Yeah, that stuff is fun to watch, especially when the famous people look or act odd! Glad the music made your day better :)

Jon: I get that. I've tended to flip back and forth a lot or not watch at all for the past couple of decades, but I've been in a celeb gazing mood lately.

Morgan: I really like Jennifer Lawrence, too. She seems to be resistant to media polishing; very real and honest, and I enjoy that about her.

MK: Daytona 500? That sounds like a lot of fun! I think the whole Oscar ceremony is online if you want to check it out. The musical performances were so cool.
